Log-to-test microservice

Took real HTTPS traffic from ELK logs, turned it into curl commands, and ran them as API tests.

The problem

Writing API tests by hand is slow. Real traffic already shows how the APIs are used — it is sitting in the logs.

How it works

  1. 01Read ELK logs
  2. 02Generate curl
  3. 03Run as tests

What I did

  • Generated curl commands straight from logged HTTPS responses, instead of writing each test by hand.
  • Moved the service from Node.js to NestJS for better speed and scale.

The result

API tests that come from how the system is really used.
